We work with an incredible network of fabric vendors in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi to source textiles. Over the years and many hundreds of prints, we've learned a lot about how to select fabrics. I could not believe my eyes when I first saw Meander- the colors and pattern were an almost exact match to my Great- Grandparent's living room wallpaper!! Great-Grandpa Gusti built his house out of Redwood in 1914 and it was decorated in the vernacular Arts and Crafts manner. Meander captures the essence of their home with it's bits of "metallic", along with it's ultra rich, muted tones

#meander was a pattern I was following for a while, waiting for its release…and it did not disappoint! It’s both earthy yet bright, and is as much of an adaptable neutral as blacks, grays, or blues.

Meander is a more muted color palette than I would normally gravitate towards, but it literally gives me a feeling of peaceful grounding - I’ve only ever felt this with one other Zuri print “Oasis”. It’s a calming energy. Up close I see leaf motifs but from a distance I swear I see bananas…or maybe boomerangs? I’d describe the colors to be brass, burgundy-brown, and slate grey with fine black line stripes throughout.
Since purchasing this dress I’ve reached for it every week. I feel like it will be one of my go-tos…running errands, meeting friends, getting me through a hectic workday 🙂
