In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. This purchase is my first sleeveless Zuri shirt/top and I’m delighted with it. I ordered it in my usual Zuri dress size and it’s a perfect fit. The fabric is just right for summer or for layering in cooler weather. Being monochrome I can mix and match it with many outfits or wear it as a vest over a LBD.

I love this but the one I got is SO much grayer than the ones shown online. I have the maxi in this fabric and the same is true of that.

I have to admit I grabbed this top out of FOMO. Once it pooped up on the website as one per size and I saw other sizes selling out, I did not want to miss my chance. But I was not sure I would love and keep it. It won me over the moment I put it on. It is both elegant and fun, and the fabric is delightfully soft and pliable. I thought I might take off the pockets in order not to disrupt the moons on the front. But I like the variety of shapes the pockets create. So this top is absolutely staying with me and will be is frequent rotation in the summer heat. I love it! And it will pair beautofully with all sorts of bright shoes.
