Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO Kenya provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. We work with an incredible network of fabric vendors in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi to source textiles. Over the years and many hundreds of prints, we've learned a lot about how to select fabrics. I finally doubled back to invest in Softwear, with its bold scale and sharp design, and I’m glad I did. I even found some 20th century vintage jewelry I had squirreled away and let it see the light of day. Softwear is very comfortable and very urbane, worthy of consideration for your collection.

Lighter and softer cotton fabric like it’s been washed several times and feels comforting like a favorite tshirt.
Background color is cream with true red (orange undertones) and black graphic lines. This pattern reminds me of early Zuri prints - it feels nostalgic.
I initially passed on this one because the store on Fillmore in SF ran out of my size. Cut to a few weeks later I found someone had returned a standard M - I took it as a sign and brought it home with me.
It’s one of my favorites released this year. Love the bold graphic and it’s polished enough to be work appropriate.

I could not wait to order this dress! Unfortunately, I did wait and my preferred size sold out. I tried out one size smaller than I usually order and it was too tight and had to go back. I’ll keep an eye out for a return so I can get one with the perfect fit and add it to my collection.
