I had been on a Zuri hiatus for the year, but came back for this new round of batiks. The cloud pattern would be nicer if there were more sky, fewer/more distributed clouds, but that’s a small quibble. It’s a lovely saturated blue and puts me in a good mood whenever I pull it out of my closet.

I was fully expecting to not be swayed by this one cause I tend to prefer Zuri batik prints as shirts - I was super bummed that the kids dress version of this wasn’t a grown up sized sleeveless top - but this instantly gave me that warm fuzzy butterfly feeling in my gut when I put it on and looked at myself in the mirror. It’s so darn cute. Tish was the one at the SF Fillmore store today helping me and she said a lot of the customers who’ve tried this on and passed it by all said that they wished the clouds were larger and with more space between them instead of placed in a side by side pattern. I do notice they go slightly diagonal front and back and horizontal on the placket and sleeves.
I also do see that the shapes could be mistaken for undies or even maxi pads with wings - lol - but no matter. I see cute fluffy happy clouds. I love the color variations/striations of the blue within the white clouds too. It makes them look even more cotton candy soft.
A very light and happy batik that will be perfect to wear this summer and on days when I want some extra cheer ☺️☁️
