Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. We're so proud to be working with Edwina and her cooperative of batik dyers in Accra, Ghana, to make these prints! Learn more about these fabrics here!
In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. We're so honored to share this collaboration with Edwina and her team!

I feel as comfortable as a pea in a pod in my MVPEA... wearing this shade of lush green and in the most perfect circular batik shapes is the ideal Zuri for feeling energized about new beginnings or seasonal rebirth... this design in any colourway will never get old, because a circle is always a perfect shape... It also pairs beautifully with other circular batik Zuris - esp shirts.

I have a collection of Zuris that skew toward purples/blues/pinks, and wasn’t sure if this pea green dress was going to be a good fit for me. After seeing someone else in it in a photo online, I jumped. It’s a lovely spring green, nothing mushy peas about it, and it has rounded out my collection nicely. I did get the fabric with bright white spots, it sounds like another batch has more muddled/greener spots and I’m not sure I would have liked that.

MVPEA has uncrowned Red Herring as the Zuri that elicits the most smiles when I'm out and about. There's just something about polka dots and lots of green that is cheering to people! As of right now, MVPEA is definitely my most fun Zuri- I am so happy I was able acquire her 💚⚪.
