Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. We're so honored to share this collaboration with Edwina and her team!

This Bright Blue Batik dress, with with the delicate white print of parentheses, is tryly special. It's crisp, yet it's soft, and has perfect cut. I got it in my usual size L and ot fits perfectly. It's becoming one of my favorite Zuris.

Love this dress, it's my 6th Zuri dress but it's quickly becoming one of my top two faves! There's something about this print that really makes me happy when I wear it... maybe it's also the memory of being in NYC and buying it in person and then wearing it on my birthday night out! But also the colour is vibrant, I'm more drawn to the Batik collection in general and this is just gorgeous

The vibrant blue and white pattern on Parenthese is quite pleasant, to my eyes almost seeming to gently vibrate! The pattern is neither dramatic, nor chaotic, but rather seems like a soothing tune someone is humming off in the distance. I feel more serene when I wear this gentle beauty, as if on a picnic with friends and family in a birch wood in Finland.
