Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO Kenya provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. We work with an incredible network of fabric vendors in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi to source textiles. Over the years and many hundreds of prints, we've learned a lot about how to select fabrics. The first time I saw Alchemy it reminded me of oxtails - specifically, my fathers’s favorite dish, a Filipino oxtail stew called kare kare. Even though I don’t often go for warm color palettes, I couldn’t resist this one. It’s soft like a warm hug, much like kare kare! So happy I got it!

This dress kept calling me for a long time before I ordered it. At first glance the pattern looked like agates, but I guess it could also show elevation curves. What would suit better for someone who studied geosciences!

This is one of my top 3 Zuris (and I have MANY - shhhh.....). Love how rich the colors are and how well they work together. Really lovely. Super easy to accessorize too. Works with both black and brown.

This dress can act as a perfect neutral, as the pattern from a distance merges and becomes quite subtle. However, closer up there are rich orange layers and curves, a bit like contour lines on a map: a design with hidden depths. Already a versatile favourite.
