Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. We're so honored to share this collaboration with Edwina and her team!

For those of us who remember Clippy from very old versions of MS Word, or who remember when we all used hard copies for things, this dress is a touch of Gen X nostalgia. It’s a gorgeous green-teal batik with a whimsical noun print. The fabric is soft and promises to get softer over time. It’s a universally flattering colorway and a total conversation starter!

The floating Paper clips and Polka dots with the Beautiful shades of Turqoise and Blue makes this Batik extra special. I Love the fit & feel and airyness of this fabric. I wore it over faded jeans with Ugg boots due to the cold NYC Temps and it was Perfection! I look forward to sytling it many ways in the Spring & Summer
